Call for Presenters

The Minnesota Breastfeeding Coalition is seeking presenters for our in-person annual conference, held yearly in October, and webinars offered several times during the year. In-person presenters receive an honorarium and complimentary conference registration. Webinar presenters receive an honorarium. 

We are mainly interested in presentations that:

  • Are 60 to 90 minutes in length, including time for questions.

  • Offer topics that appeal to a diverse audience of healthcare providers, public health employees, peer breastfeeding counselors, and lactation professionals OR teach clinical skills to lactation professionals.

  • Relate to Minnesota or specific populations served by our lactation professionals and advocates.

Current topics of particular interest:

  • Low milk production

  • Common challenges facing rural families in lactation care

  • The mastitis spectrum

  • World Breastfeeding Week theme: “Prioritize breastfeeding: create sustainable support systems”

  • Topics related to induced lactation, including trans parenting, adoption, and infertility/surrogacy

  • Tongue tie/tethered oral tissue and other anatomical challenges related to breastfeeding, particularly as it relates to scope of practice for lactation providers

  • Mental well-being or self-care for providers and/or their patients
